Momentum Healthcare are delighted to be part of Gait and Motion Clinics, the UK's largest network of private healthcare practices, offering the latest footscan® technology and Phits 3D printed orthotics.
With over 250 specialist clinics, GMC lead the way in innovative gait and movement analysis to reduce injury risk, aid rehabilitation and improve performance.
GMC's clients include British Marathon Champions, Team GB Athletes and Premier League Football Players, but we support individuals in all walks of life. Whether you are aiming for Olympic podiums, or just want to live and walk pain free, our expert clinicians can help!
Before we begin, our expert clinicians will take a detailed medical history, followed by both observational and physical examination which may include movement analysis and other clinical tests to determine if you have any injuries, pain or dysfunction.
After this is complete, its time to scan your gait and biomechanics using the patented dynamic Footscan® technology! Depending on your needs, the Footscan® involves you walking, running or even squatting on a force plate which contains 12288 sensors and scanning at a rate of up to 200HZ. Using this amazing technology, we are able to dynamically measure your foot biomechanics, balance, pressure spread and walking allowing us to measure your gait accurately and professionally.
The unique design of your 3D-printed orthotics is generated from our software, integrated with Footscan® technology and can be adapted to your specific needs or to the advice of your expert. You will receive a detailed report of your recommended prescription to keep and your records kept on file if you should choose to go ahead with your orthotics.
After receiving your report you are under no abligation to buy your orthotics. The prescription and report are yours to take home and use whenever you please.
Fitting the orthotics will be done 2 weeks after your digital prescription is sent to our PHITS lab where a 3D printer then transforms your digital design into an ultralight custom orthotic. This appointment is included within the initial appointment cost but is an essential part of the process as your specialist clinician will confirm the fit of your truly bespoke orthotic fits your feet and shoes.
Depending on your specific requirements and reasons for booking your initial assessment, you may also receive other modalities including manual therapy, an individualised, specific exercise program to follow and after care advice in order to optimise your recovery from injury or simply returning you to daily pain free function.
Our expert clinicians will take a detailed medical and injury history, followed by a clinical examination to determine your strength and joint flexibility.
You will then complete a footscan® assessment to analyse your standing posture, balance and gait to identify any asymmetries or abnormalities.
The clinician will talk through your footscan® analysis and suggest the most suitable treatment pathway. This might include the design of Phits orthotics.
If prescribed, your Phits orthotics will be 3D printed to meet your exact specifications by using the dynamic data from your footscan® assessment.
After a quality check, you will return to the clinic in a couple of weeks to fit your new orthotics, providing your body with the perfect balance with every step.
