Consultation & Initial Assessment

This session lasts around 45-60 minutes when you attend Momentum Healthcare for the first time for an appointment with one of our Physiotherapists or Sports Medical Specialists. On arrival you’ll be asked to complete a personal details and medical history form before commencing the appointment. The consultation lasts around 45 minutes and the health professional will confirm details around your medical history, and then record detailed notes about your presenting pain complaint. This is followed by an examination of the painful area to help determine the potential cause of the pain you’re suffering. In most cases treatment will also be provided in this session and we aim to deliver a clear plan of action for your recovery.

All of our health care professionals are able to manage a range of pain complaints, from spinal to joint or muscle complaints and also sports and non-sports related. If you’d like to discuss the most appropriate therapy for the consultation then please feel free to contact us directly where we can discuss this in more detail. Should the unlikely scenario occur where the healthcare professional feels you’d be better placed with an alternative therapist within the practice, then this will be organised as a follow on session and not as a second consultation.
